Investing in Education: Strengthening the involvement of teacher trade unions in the European Semester on education and training is a research programme commissioned by the European Trade Union Committee for Education.

Full details of the project are here.

There are three dimensions to the project:

  1. How far are teacher unions involved in the European Semester process?
  2. What is happening to investment in education across the EU?
  3. Is there evidence that public investment is being displaced by private investment (ie privatisation)?

ETUCE recently provided a report of the first workshop in the project, held in Malta in May. The report is here.

The next workshop is being held in Vilnius, Lithuania in September 16.
